The course is separated in to a three day block, followed by a one day session a fortnight later. This enables participants to take on board the information and skills given in the first block and apply them to their written assignments and practical micro-teaching session in the second block.

Aspire to Lead provides the following services to graduates and employers:
We look for graduates who have an outstanding academic background with a min 2:1 degree. Applicants with Master degrees are also encouraged to apply. We look for candidates to demonstrate ambition, drive and initiative as well as a creative vision, alongside leadership experience within either a student, community or workplace environment.
We select eight exceptional graduates to start their 6mth job opportunities four times a year. Start dates are in July, October, January, and April.
During 2010, we placed over 200 graduates in 6mth work placements with social enterprises, including Rich Mix, Eco-Computers, Make Theatre Work, London Rebuilding Society, Green works, Tourism Concern, plus many others. Over 50% have secured permanent employment following the placement, whilst the remainder pursued further training, career opportunities or established their own social enterprise.

Amy Sharples is a 25 year old Biology Graduate. She decided to take up the role at Global Action plan due to having a real interest in environmental issues. Amy’s role entails supporting the marketing team, with event organisation, promotion of EcoInteractive exhibits plus digital marketing and website maintenance.

Lorna Maclean – Junior Training Facilitator – Embrace Cooperation Ltd - Employee
Lorna Maclean, aged 22, was recruited as a Junior Training Facilitator for Embrace Cooperation Ltd. She has a BA in Applied Languages and wanted a job which utilized her languages. She was recruited to help the Project Managers find accommodation and work placements for participants arriving from abroad, as well as prepare and carry out German lessons for participants going to Germany.

The intensity and content of the training is varied depending on the previous leadership experience of the clients. Our training can also be accredited with a qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management ranging from Level 2 to Level 7.
Our Clients
We work with young people aged 16 upwards to adults who are either new leaders to senior leaders in the community or work based setting. Our diverse range of delivery staff, have the skills, experience and knowledge to work with individuals in a variety of contexts to help them develop their leadership skills. Our leadership support is often paid for by an employer, an individual or a public sector funder.
Track Record
Between December 2009 and November 2010 we have recruited 70 young people aged between 18 and 30 onto our Take the Lead programme, working with a number of partners including Elixir Foundations, London Youth and Birmingham Youth Service.
The recruits have received leadership training and one-to-one coaching support to enable them become great leaders in their community or work place. 44 of these individuals are working towards accrediting their training with an ILM Level 2 Team Leadership Qualification and 3 have already successfully completed their qualification.
