This summer, following the huge success of the first show, MINI MOGUL returns to challenge a new group of aspiring young entrepreneurs who will be battling to win over £3,000 to get there business ideas off the ground.

This TV style show gives young entrepreneurs aged 16- 25 the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to our panel of judges as well as a LIVE studio audience. This is a night of pure entertainment, with celebrity guests & prize giveaways.

Mini Mogul are looking for teams/individuals with the drive & ambition to make their business ideas work!

Guinness Bring It To Life Awards

The Guinness Bring It To Life Awards, in association with UnLtd and Rathbone, will work with people aged 25 – 35 who have a brilliant urban regeneration idea that will make a difference to their local community. People will receive a Guinness Bring It To Life Award through UnLtd and will have access to funding, training and volunteer support from Rathbone and Diageo Great Britain to bring their social ventures to life. The Guinness Bring it to Life Awards honour Arthur Guinness’ commitment to supporting local communities.

Guinness are looking for 19 driven individuals who are fast-moving social entrepreneurs with an initiative that will benefit people in any of the following cities: London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester. They are particularly interested in supporting initiatives in areas of particular need.

Guinness want to support people who have the energy and drive to transform their communities and neighbourhoods by hosting positive activities in community spaces:

You must be:

25-35 at the time of submitting your application
Living and/or working in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham or London
The founder or lead person driving the initiative
In a position to apply as an individual or an informal group
Identify where you would personally benefit from support

Two levels of Award are available for entrepreneurs. 15 Catalyst Awards, each worth up to £2,200, are available for those who need the running costs to get their idea off the ground and 6 Development Awards, worth up to £15,000 each, are available for established social entrepreneurs to get their ventures fully operational.

Deadline for expressions of interest is 9th July 2010.

Big Challenge 2010

If you are aged 16 to 25 then you can apply for part of the £65,000 prize fund to tackle the Big Challenge theme for 2010. The Big Challenge Youth Leadership Team are looking for original project or campaign ideas that will have a big impact and inspire other young people. This is your chance to make a difference!

O2's Think Big Scheme

Think Big is O2’s new corporate responsibility programme. An important part is there £5 million, three-year campaign to support young people through the Think Big grants programme. They will award grants to young people aged 13-25 who have a great idea for a community project that brings people together and promotes positive change. They will also provide leadership training to make sure the young people involved have the self-confidence and skills needed to make their projects sustainable. Think Big has the potential to benefit up to 100,000 young people.

Community Voices Grants

We will be selecting 26 community projects to receive funding of either £1,500, £7,000 or £14,000, as well as support from digital mentors to help you make a difference in your community. Apply by 28 February 2010 to be considered for a grant.

Children in Need launches new grants programme

Children in Need is offering small grants of up to £10,000 a year for three years for third sector organisations working with children and young people. It is the first time the organisation has run a UK-wide small grants programme, and follows a pilot in Scotland. The scheme is designed to reach organisations that have not previously considered applying for Children in Need funding. More info

CHANGEit Award for Young People

CHANGEit is an award scheme specifically designed to recognise young people in the UK who are volunteering, running campaigns, taking pictures or have ideas to make a difference in their local areas.

The awards are accepting nominations now until 11 December 2009. If you know a young person who fits the bill, nominate them for one of the CHANGEit categories below. Up to £750 in funding and fantastic opportunities are available (and an award ceremony at the Ministry of Sound in London - very cool!)

Innovation - for young people who have an idea to improve their community but need training or support to get started
Performance - to celebrate the achievements of young people who have already taken positive action in their local areas.
Photography - young people's photos that capture campaigning in action or images that illustrate the change they see in the world around them
